On the occasion of Italian Design Day 2025, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Toronto presents the exhibition Carissimo Pinocchio.

Curated by Giulio Iacchetti, with exhibition design by Matteo Vercelloni and graphic design by Federica Marziale Iadevaia, this exhibition celebrates the 140th anniversary of the first edition of The Adventures of Pinocchio – Story of a Puppet by Carlo Collodi, featuring a carefully selected collection of projects dedicated to the iconic puppet, which has inspired generations of artists and designers.

At the heart of Carissimo Pinocchio are projects by Italian designers and graphic artists, some created specifically for the exhibition. These works offer diverse expressions of the creativity and craftsmanship of Italian designers, presenting a kaleidoscopic view that showcases the ability of Italian design to produce timeless images and products. As Giulio Iacchetti aptly puts it, this collection celebrates the myth of Geppetto, “the first Italian designer!”

Organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ADI Design Museum, in collaboration with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Toronto, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy Toronto.
