This year’s Day of Italian Research in the World focuses on Medicine-Science Frontiers, and Advanced Technology for a Global Aging Population. This presentation brings together top experts to explore cutting-edge innovations shaping the future of brain health. Dr. Alfonso Fasano will highlight the role of neuromodulation and its transformative applications in neurology, drawing comparisons between Toronto and Milan. Dr. Antonio Strafella will provide a forward-looking perspective on how the Krembil Brain Institute and the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Medicine are planning for the next five years to meet the demands of aging societies. Dr. Carmela Tartaglia will discuss the latest advancements in dementia research and clinical care in the Greater Toronto Area, addressing the growing challenges of an aging population.

Moderated by Dr. Emilia Luca, Research Associate at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and Chair of the Toronto Chapter of AIRIcerca – Association of Italian Researchers, the discussion will showcase how pioneering research and advanced technology are driving the future of neurological care on a global scale.

Presented by the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Toronto in collaboration with the Toronto chapter of AIRIcerca – The Association of Italian Researchers.
