Franco Grillini is the founder of ArciGay and started, together with other activists, the Italian LGBTQ movement from Bologna, Emilia Romagna. Grillini’s path shows the growth and evolution of the Italian LGBTQ movement connecting it to love, politics and life: Let’s Kiss, the documentary portraying his life, directed by Filippo Vendemmiati and produced by GenomaFilms, is an in-depth look at a fascinating life of a pioneer of equality rights and also a vivid perspective on Italian gay movement.

Let’s Kiss won the Berlin Italian Film Festival; Let’s Kiss Toronto is the first Canadian screening of the movie, with Franco Grillini and director Filippo Vendemmiati in attendance, offers Toronto an open and candid conversation on the history of the LGBTQ rights movement in Italy.
The film focuses on the figure of Franco Grillini, leader of the LGBTQ Italian movement, the son of peasants, a graduate in pedagogy, then a politician in the Italian Parliament, who has always been committed to the recognition of civil rights of gays, lesbians and transsexuals. The story, with a light tone and unpublished documentary material, reconstructs over thirty years of a hard and gentle revolution.
