EUROPEAN UNION SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2021

May 27 to May 29, 2021

FREE EVENT | TICKET RESERVATION REQUIRED

This year marks the 8th edition of the annual European Union Short Film Festival and its second return as a virtual event.

Presented by the European Union and the Canadian Film Institute, in collaboration with the Embassies of EU Member States and the European Union National Institutes for Culture, the European Union Short Film Festival is part of the May Europe Day celebrations in Canada and, in 2021, marks the 45th anniversary of the Delegation of the European Union to Canada.

“This year’s fresh collection of 21 films from as many EU Member States features a wide range of film genres and stories”, says Dr. Melita Gabrič, Ambassador of the European Union to Canada in her message to audiences.  “We have all experienced the transformative power of the arts and have come to appreciate culture in a new light over the past year. Numerous cultural activities such as this have enabled us to stay connected and resilient as we continue to cope collectively with the pandemic, no matter where we are in the world.”
