Lecture: Italy through the looking glass: fashion designers and style icons

Given the recent interest raised by the Met Gala in New York city, it is time to delve into the Italian fashion world of the second half of the 20th century. Sebastiano Bazzichetto will scrutinise the fashion houses and their leaders – gli stilisti – that changed the way we perceive clothes and the fashion system. Beyond Gucci, Moschino, Prada, Ferré, Valentino, Pucci (and many others), the Italian panorama has been blessed by some of the most remarkable style icons of the past century, women and men who channeled their taste and personality through fashion.
