CANCELLED: VESUVIUS ENSEMBLE – CONCERT #4: The Tale of Tales

THIS CONCERT (MAY 2) HAS BEEN CANCELLED

Vesuvius Ensemble 2019/2020 concert series: The Tale of Tales.

SATURDAY, MAY 2, 2020 | 8.00 PM

In collaboration with StoryFusion (Storytelling Toronto)

The fourth concert of the season will bring back Vesuvius’ program of tales by Giambattista Basile’s PENTAMERONE (The Tale of Tales): originally written in Neapolitan dialect and constituting the first important collection of European fairy tales, the Pentamerone contains the oldest versions of stories such as Cinderella and Rapunzel. Vesuvius uses folk music from Basile’s time to bring you into a world where things are not always what they appear to be, and all can be transformed in a heartbeat. Strange things do happen and magic does exist!

With:

Mariella Bertelli: storyteller

Naghmeh Farahmand: percussion

Romina di Gasbarro: voice & guitar
