The Mariotti & Moretti duo will perform a selection of contemporary chamber music and instant compositions at the Istituto.
The dialogue between trumpets and percussion instruments has been developing throughout the centuries in various aesthetic forms. Inspired by such a valuable tradition, the duo gives a contemporary interpretation, through the language of instant composition, extended instrumental techniques, timbrical research and chamber interplay. In 2016, record label A Simple Lunch published their first album.

BIO MARIO MARIOTTI
Mario Mariotti specializes in contemporary musical language. He graduated with the highest honours at the Conservatorio di Trento and obtained a Master of Advanced Studies at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana with Gabriele Cassone. He collaborates with the ensemble Sentieri Selvaggi, Divertimento Ensemble of Milan, FontanaMix Ensemble of Bologna and Biennale Musica in Venice. His recording collaborations include music by Karlheinz Stockhausen, Flavio Testi, Bruno Maderna, Gabrio Taglietti and Gianni Mimmo.
BIO ELIA MORETTI
Elia Moretti is dedicated to the interdisciplinarity between music and the performing arts. He obtained his degree under the tutelage of Umberto Petrin and Stefano Bagnoli at the Nicolini in Piacenza music academy. His research focusses on ethnomusicology and cultural anthropology. Since 2007, he collaborates with theatre companies in Italy and abroad. Currently, he is working with Divadlo Continuo in the Czech Republic.
