To celebrate this year’s Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, the Istituto and the Italian Consulate General, in collaboration with George Brown College and 1890 Don Alfonso restaurant, will showcase the cuisine of the Basilicata Region. Michelin-starred Chef, Vitantonio Lombardo, a master of culinary arts from Matera, Basilicata, will introduce his take on Mediterranean Diet and Culinary Roots during a special Gala for Culinary Excellence that will support scholarship funds for students in the Advanced Italian Culinary Arts program from The GBC Culinary School.
This exclusive Gala celebrates the rich heritage of Southern Italian cuisine through a six-course Michelin-starred tasting menu crafted by renowned chefs Davide Ciavattella and Vitantonio Lombardo.
