Luca Nostri is a photographer and researcher at Plymouth University. His work explores issues related to place, memory and belonging, favoring the use of a large format camera.

In 2008, he presented the series of photographs L’Isola dei Ciurli organized by the “European Night” project, promoted by “Les Rencontres d’Arles”. In 2009, he participated in the project A Question of Time at the American Academy in Rome, and the following year, he received a scholarship from the same institution as an Italian fellow in the Arts. In 2010, he participated in the Dove Viviamo project, conceived by the Photographic Observatory of Ravenna, and was published and exhibited in the series The Wheel of the Moon at the Ninapì Gallery in Ravenna. In 2013, he received the Graziadei Award and presented the Solarolo series at the Macro museum in Rome as part of Photography – Rome International Festival. In 2016, he was included in the exhibition Qualsiasità, curated by Alessandro Dandini of Sylva for the Malaspina Foundation, and organized at the Visual Arts Center of Pesaro, and at the Italian Cultural Institute in London. In 2018, it is included in the Facing the Camera exhibition, curated by Marco Delogu and exhibited at the Italian Cultural Institute in New York and London. In 2019 he exhibited the “Anselmo” series at the Maxxi Museum, Rome.

His photographs are present in the collection of the MACRO museum and in the MAXXI museum in Rome, and at the Photo Academy of the American Academy in Rome.
