Toronto based, immersive theatre company DLT and the Istituto Italiano di Cultura Toronto present Theatre On-Call, a festival of performances that occur over the phone, as well as through other digital platforms; a way to stay connected during these difficult times.
Playlist D’Artiste is a night of intimate confession from a featured artist about passions and obsessions about other artists’ work. Discover the internal world of an artist, their inspirations and the encounters that shaped who they are today. A playlist, a cocktail of art for the culture lover and theatre dreamer.
Parallel to Maurizio Guarini’s work as a part of Goblin (whose music is featured in the films of Dario Argento), during 2015-2018 he released three new albums and toured extensively in the US and Europe, and started working on various projects: Three vinyl releases of soundtracks containing spoken word acts from famous horror stories, starting with Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Raven”, followed by “The Yellow Sign” by Robert W. Chambers and more recently, “Berenice” and “The Masque of Red Death”, also by Edgar Allan Poe.
In 2017, Maurizio was invited by the Istituto Italiano di Cultura to compose and perform a live score for the 1911 silent movie “Inferno”. Later, in 2018 and 2019, Maurizio started performing the live score to a movie in Canada and in the the US. In 2019, the live soundtrack performances continued with the movie “Nosferatu”. In 2018-2019, Maurizio composed the score for “Salvation” and “CherryPicker”, two Canadian movies. At the end of 2019, Maurizio released a new solo album for Piano and String Quartet, a re-visitation of the most popular Goblin tunes, with a classical twist.
Maurizio started performing live with the quartet at the beginning of 2020.
