ABOUT THE BOOK
Il fu Mattia Pascal is a famous novel by Luigi Pirandello which first appeared in installments in the magazine Nuova Antologia in 1904 and was published as a book that same year. It was Pirandello’s first great success written, according to the legend, on the nights of wakefulness to tend to his wife, Maria Antonietta Portulano, a paraplegic.
LUIGI PIRANDELLO (Agrigento, 1867 – Rome, 1936), was defined as an unusual writer, difficult to frame. The Sicilian writer, playwright and poet, is considered one of the greatest writers of all time. He is one of the six Italian intellectuals who throughout history has had the honour of being awarded the Nobel Prize for literature.
