Giacomo Tantillo. Teacher of Trumpet / Jazz Trumpet (AFAM) at the "A.Toscanini" Higher Institute in Ribera (AG) and the "Cassarà / Guida" Comprehensive School in Partinico (PA)

In June 2006 he graduated with honors in Classical Trumpet, then obtained the Qualifying Degree for teacher training (Bi.For.Doc - AL77) and in June 2014 he graduated in the II level Biennium in Jazz Trumpet with 110 cum laude and mention at the V.Bellini Conservatory in Palermo.

He boasts several collaborations and participations in Jazz and Symphonic Orchestras, Jazz Festivals and soundtrack recordings for films by composers such as Luis Bacàlov and Giuseppe Vasapolli.

He participated in various master classes with: Sean Jones, Darren Barrett, Charlies Tolliver, Ambrose Akinmusire, Elliot Maison, Jeff Stout, Stjepko Gut, Barry Harris, Flavio Boltro, Fabrizio Bosso, John Kinnison, Paul Jeffrey.

Recently returned to Italy after studying at the "Berklee College Of Music" in Boston, playing in numerous concerts organized by the same College and in several American Jazz Clubs. In addition, he participates in the recording of the "Transitions" (Jazz Revelation Records and John Clayton) which each year features the participation of the best Berklee students.

Winner of the XVI edition of the "Massimo Urbani International Award" for Solisti Jazz, he records his "Rewind" debut album together with the co-leader Francesco Patti on Alto Sax (ex-aequo winner) on behalf of the "Musicamdo Jazz Record / IRD" , Giuseppe Cucchiara at the double bass, Seby Burgio at the piano and Stefano "brushman" Bagnoli at the drums. The liner notes are signed by Enrico Rava.

Since June 2014 he has been a permanent member of the National Jazz Young Talents Orchestra directed by Paolo Damiani with whom he has recorded the "Oscene Rivolte" Double Disc produced by the Parco della Musica Records 2019, the Disco "But what are the leaves in the closets? "Produced by Camilla Records CAM - 015.2 and the Film / Documentary" Quest 'Italia suona il Jazz "by Marco Guelfi produced by Solaria Film and Luce Cinecittà, also playing in the best Italian Theaters and European Jazz Festivals as" Trumpet Soloist ".

In collaboration with Rai Cultura, Fondazione Musica per Roma and Novara Jazz, participates in the Film / Documentary of the National Jazz Young Talents Orchestra conducted by Paolo Damiani
"I RAGAZZI DEL JAZZ" in prime time on Rai5. Program created by the TV Production Management of the Rai TV Production Center in Rome.

In December 2018 he published his second Record Work from Leader "Water Trumpet" (self-produced) - Giacomo Tantillo 4et formed by Andrea Rea, Piano | Matteo Bortone, Double Bass | Enrico Morello, Drums. The album is the fruit of artistic and human experiences, between Sicily and the period of study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Experience, the latter, which significantly changed Tantillo's music. The liner notes are signed by George Garzone. Subsequently it is the Winner of the "New Generation Jazz" Call supported by the MIBAC (Ministry of Cultural Heritage) and of the SIAE, representing Jazz in Italy throughout 2019.

In March 2019 as Professor of the Higher Institute of Music Studies A.Toscanini di Ribera (AG) he was invited by the A. Glazunov Conservatory of Petrozavodsk to carry out Masterclass activities, as well as to perform concerts as Jazz Soloist of the "CMP Big Band "and the" Ensemble di Brass & Percussion "of the department. He is also nominated member of the jury of the prestigious "Silver Sound International Festival 2019".
