“Between Realism And Melodrama: Luchino Visconti’s Early Films”- Lecture by Alberto Zambenedetti

The Istituto Italiano di Cultura presents a Lecture from professor Alberto Zambenedetti about Italian Neorealistic filmmaker Luchino Visconti:

“This lecture will offer an overview of Luchino Visconti’s early films, from Ossessione (1943) to Senso (1954). Drawing from the materials on view at the Italian Cultural Institute, Professor Zambenedetti will discuss the director’s signature style, his relationship with actors, and the politics of his cinema.”

Biography:

Alberto Zambenedetti is Assistant Professor in the Department of Italian Studies and the Cinema Studies Institute at the University of Toronto. He is the editor of World Film Locations: Florence (Intellect Books, 2014), of World Film Locations: Cleveland (Intellect Books, 2016), and the co-editor of Federico Fellini. Riprese, riletture, (re)visioni (Franco Cesati Editore, 2016).
