The creators of the critically acclaimed The Stranger (SummerWorks and international tour), Off Limits Zone (Luminato Festival), in association with the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, presents a new interactive show designed for one audience member at a time from December 7th to December 22nd 2017.
An Italian Christmas Carol is an immersive experience that recounts the story of a Christmas spent alone by an Italian immigrant who dreams about an impossible homecoming. The experience takes place in an apartment and other secret locations inside of a heritage building in the Bloor West area.
The audience enters the home of a newcomer to Canada. They are left alone and proceed in the exploration of the environment, discovering the story of the person who lives there through objects and clues they find along the way. At a certain point things shift: the place begins to be animated by ghostly presences and the audience enters an intimate and dreamlike world suspended in wonder and hallucination.
The narrative that follows is loosely inspired by A Christmas Carol but with an Italian twist.
The show transforms the passive observer into an active agent, with the audience becoming the actor of their own experience.

For the first time, DLT offers two special performances dates of the experience reimagined for families (up to four people) on December 9th and 16th.
A bilingual version of both experiences, in Italian and English, is available. If you would like to request one please email us at dlt.experience@gmail.com, after you have reserved your slot, with your date and time. The subject of the email should be: Bilingual Experience Request.
Dates of the one to one experience: December 7th -22nd. Slots begin every 30 mins from 5:30 until 10:30pm. No performances scheduled on December 13th and 18th. Duration of each performance is slightly variable (60-65 mins). Meant for one audience member at a time. Last slot every day is a VIP ticket. The VIP Experience contains secret content and an alternate ending.

– Active audience participation.
– The experience is designed strictly for only one audience member at a time.
