Italian Language Courses

For information about our courses CLICK HERE

PLEASE NOTE:

Although the Istituto Italiano di Cultura is closed to the public due to the current COVID-19 outbreak, all courses will be offered online via virtual classrooms during the Spring Term, from the comfort of your home, instead of on-site at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.  All courses will be taught by our regular instructors.  Although the classes will be offered virtually,  students will continue to participate actively in those same activities offered in an on-site classroom: speaking, writing, listening, working in groups, etc.

We thank you for your understanding as we move to this method of teaching.  We look forward to meeting you online.

The Institute offers the opportunity to learn Italian language and culture.

About 120 courses are organized every year. In 2017 registered students were about 1400.

Students choose the Italian Cultural Institute because:

- in Toronto and in Vaughan we offer a variety of courses ranging from beginner to advanced levels;
- our courses follow the Common European Framework set by the European Council for Languages;
- we offer special interest courses such as business, stylistics, grammar, conversation and culture  classes;
- Our teachers are highly qualified native speakers of Italian;
- Small groups: minimum 6 and maximum 13 students;
- Students can partecipate at the cultural events organized by the IIC;
- Students have free access to the Institute's library and movies;
- Certificates of proficiency can be issued upon request;
- Students can benefit from various scholarships offered by language schools in Italy;
- The Institute is the only place in Toronto where the Certification of Italian Proficiency exams (esami CILS) are held. This certification is officially recognized by the European Union.
