The Villa Farnesina, headquarters of the Italian Foreign Ministry, hosted the working group, coordinated by Director-General Vincenzo De Luca, in preparation for the fourth edition of International Italian Food Week, planned for 18-24 November 2019, whose main theme this year will be “Food Education: the culture of taste”.
Addressing the group, Secretary-General Roberto Ariani noted thatour Academy’s presence during every edition of that event is one of its great strengths, considering that, with Delegations in 50 countries, it is constantly active in promoting Italian food culture. This year too, the Delegations will collaborate closely with the consular network to promote a wealth of events, from conferences to round tables, while providing cultural support for activities organised by other governmental bodies.

Showcasing Italy and the Italian taste in the world, the Week of Italian Cuisine is a yearly initiative developed to promote Italian culinary traditions and food-and- wine connoisseurship as a distinctive trait of Italian identity and culture. Join us on a delicious journey, discovering new touristic destinations, culinary itineraries and the Mediterranean diet, one of the elements that make Italy one of the healthiest countries in the world.

we will celebrate this event in Toronto. In keeping with our educational mandate and thanks to the support of the Italian Consulate in Toronto, we are able to have a visiting chef from Tuscany to cook a delicious dinner 'Tuscan Style'.

With the collaboration of the Delegation of Versilia Storica (Tuscany) Chef Gaio Giannelli will come to Toronto. He will be assisted by the Chef de Cuisine and the students of George Brown College restaurant "The Chefs' House".

For this special evening we welcome also the support and participation of the Italian Chamber of Commerce. They will offer tastings of a variety of pecorino cheeses and special cured meats imported from Tuscany, to be enjoyed during the aperitif and other delicacies prepared by chef Giannelli.
