Matera Plovdiv. Straight path of culture, is a documentary that brings together the two European Capitals of Culture 2019 through the adventures of Donato Vena, of Lucanian origins, as he departs from Reggio Emilia, headed for Matera and then continues to Plovdiv, to find a Bulgarian friend whom he has not seen for over 25 years.
Donato travels along a hypothetical straight path that unites Italy and Bulgaria. A journey that unravels along the ethereal 700 km of culture with which this straight path is filled, thus crossing four states, Italy, Albania, North Macedonia and finally Bulgaria, travelling by sea and land, discovering the customs and habits of the local populations, revealing landscapes of the places visited.
