Coltivando tranquilla, l’orribile varietà delle proprie superbie, la maggioranza sta come una malattia, come una sfortuna, come un’anestesia, come un’abitudine. Per chi viaggia in direzione ostinata e contraria col suo marchio speciale di speciale disperazione. (Fabrizio De Andrè)
La lingua aveva strati sovrapposti: era tutto un intarsio. C’era la gran divisione della lingua rustica e di quella paesana, e c’era inoltre tutta una gradazione di sfumature per contrade e per generazioni. Strambe linee di divisione tagliavano i quartieri, e fino i cortili, la stessa tavola a cui ci si sedeva a mangiare. (Luigi Meneghello)
